The Alameda Swimming Pool Association (ASPA) relies on dedicated volunteers to thrive. We invite you to contribute your skills and time.

Volunteer Committees

We also have several volunteer-run committees that convene regularly, virtually and in person, throughout the year:

• Fundraising Committee - (Open) Seek sponsorship opportunities, corporate matching and donation opportunities. 

• Lifeguarding Committee - Led by Jolen Flores and Lisa Clemson. Manage lifeguard training, hiring, and scheduling, and organize American Red Cross shallow water certification classes. 

• Maintenance Committee - Led by Jesse Martinez, jesse77martinez@gmail.com. Handle pool and grounds upkeep, lost and found, and address maintenance issues. 

• Membership and Communications Committee - Led by Chris Roby and Lisa Amstutz. Manage member communications via Captyn and social media, maintain membership rosters, and address member inquiries. 

• Pool Enforcement and Governance - (Open) Review and recommend updates to bylaws and pool rules. 

• Swimming Programs - Led by Kate Brault. Schedule and staff swim programs, assess swimmer abilities, and oversee swim lessons. 

• Technology Committee - Led by Erin Fong-Zajonc. Manage Captyn, Calendly, website, domain transfers, Google Workspace, and Stripe. 

• Volunteer/Community Building - Led by Nicole Saavedra. Organize community events like Opening Weekend, socials, and the annual Fun Meet.
